Matt Chin

Welcome, my name is Matt Chin and I am the president of Ladera Financial. I started my career in the commodities industry 14 years ago as a runner at the Coffee, Sugar, Cocoa Exchange and the Cotton Exchange at the world trade center in New York City. I ran orders to ten different trading pits. At that time we had the NYMEX and the COMEX exchanges all on the same floor. If you ever saw the movie “Trading Places” at the end of the movie when they are trading in the OJ pit, that’s where I worked. It was a great experience. During that time I also worked as a TIPS clerk and a booth clerk. I processed the broker’s trade cards and made sure the trades were allocated to the correct clearing houses. I took orders and got current bid/offers for all ten pits.

In 1997 I moved out to California and continued to pursue my career in the commodities industry. I worked alongside a very knowledgeable broker and learned a business from the other end of the phone. After a while I was a fully licensed commodities broker and started helping my own clients. During the last ten years I have been dealing with full service commodity accounts. Four years ago I founded Ladera Financial and I continue to love what I do.
